For over 30 years, the Jordan family has welcomed thousands to the Barker Tavern. a place that symbolizes more than just a casual fine dining establish-ment within a treasured historical setting. Fine foods and superior customer service at the Barker Tavern have been the standard by which others are measured. In this historic building, the heavy beams and wooden walls, once pierced for portholes, bear witness to its use as a garrison house in 1676. Part of the original building is said to be the second oldest standing house in the United States. Today, crackling fires, rustic yet elegant décor and beautifully appointed tables embrace each guest like an old friend. When Eli Jordan purchased the Barker Tavern in 1978, he knew exactly what he wanted; to bring to his customers a memorable dining experience.
In Eli's mind, his guests are treasured and his employees are family. He hires associates based on personality and a common interest in customer service. Whether serving 200 guests at a spectacular wedding reception, or the romantic couple celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary, we treated each person with special care. We will have it no other way.
Known throughout the region as magnificent and practical, the Barker Tavern excels at:
- Fine dining for parties up to eighteen guests
- Spectacular event planning and hosting such as weddings and family reunions
- Intimate business meetings
